Camo has always been a favorite of mine, especially if it’s a vintage piece as this shirt from The Hundreds. When it comes to print, I will go for one and only one printed item. In this way, I will make sure all eyes are on that piece. Here are a few versions of the camo shirt / jacket.
Myar is a really interesting project I’ve recently come across. With a focus on sustainability, they give a second life to military garments. Bringing together masculinity, practicability, functional designs and respect for history.
Then we have the RE/DONE denim jacket. This brand uses vintage Levi´s denim, to recreate new modern skinny fit garments. Each item is special, since is hand cut, customized and redesigned. Love the idea of rethinking and recycling those legendary Levi’s items.
The camouflage print shirt by Vivienne Westwood is ¨inspired by an army returning victorious from the war against corporations and governments, fighting for a free world economy.¨ Always advocating for what she believes in, this piece is part of Vivienne’s Climate Revolution. (Here is my post about this collection Vivienne Westwood AW18-19 Don’t Get Killed) This is a pricey item, but at least we can get inspired for the moment.
What I truly like about this kind of pieces is the attention to functional details, from the front pockets to sleeves buttons, to the classic cut and the and masculine fit. The military theme remains one of my favourites.
